Role: QA Analyst
Battlefront 2 was DICEs 2017 big release. I worked on the game for about 9 months as a QA analyst. I worked on the main game and the first big patch drop which included Crait and some other content from the Last Jedi movie.
Job Description
As a QA analyst at DICE I am deeply embedded in development and are responsible for testing, documenting and analyzing the game during production.
The analyst role at DICE is a versatile role with many areas of focus and responsibilities, my primary focus was on level art and design. We act as a catalyst ensuring that QA understands the design and that it´s features are tested in the correct way as well as ensuring that the quality of the game lives up to our players expectations.
Primary Work Tasks
Assisted development in creating a high quality product by:
- Giving daily qualitative feedback to developers on levels, game modes and the game overall
- Participating in studio-wide daily playtests
- Quality controlling art assets
- Assisted level art/design by doing collision passes on all levels.
- Working with developers to flag quality risks on levels and give feedback
- Making sure the levels had a high quality in both Level Art and Design
- Writing and sending out test requests to offsite QA Testers
- Reviewing and writing test scripts for features
- Finding, reproducing and filing bugs in Jira
- Mitigating risk through bug prevention and workflow optimization
- Driving and improving workflows for QA
- Updating design documentation on internal databases
- Report game quality status to management through daily/weekly reports
